Edmonton Chinese Badminton Club (ECBC)

Founded in 1980, the ECBC is a recreational badminton club in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The club motto is “To promote friendship and good health through badminton for everyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality!”



Year-round Badminton

The ECBC plays year-round and is open to the public for membership or drop-in badminton. We play on the north side at the Concordia University gym with 8 courts.



Top Court Selection

Our members have regarded the club as having the top gym selection for badminton. We also have convenient court bookings and fewest cancellations during the year.



Newcomers Welcome!

Whether you’re new to badminton, or the Edmonton area, you’re welcome to play with the ECBC! We have a friendly atmosphere with a diverse group of members.

Schedule & Location

The ECBC plays year-round and always welcomes new members or drop-in badminton players of all abilities. Protective eyewear is recommended, but not mandatory for badminton players.

Summer Season

The ECBC plays year round. Details for summer 2024 will be announced in June 2024.



Gym Location

Concordia University Gymnasium (Ralph King Athletic Centre), located at the SE Corner of 112 Ave. and 73 St.



Parking

Free parking is available at the Bellevue Community Centre across the street (NW corner of 112 Ave. and 73 St.) – please park near the fenced area. Alternatively, parking in the Concordia lot is $3/day.

Membership & Drop-in Fees

The ECBC is open for badminton for April through June 2024. Drop-ins are welcome on Sundays on the schedule. Individual Memberships with shuttles (one tube of 6 Yonex Mavis 300 shuttles) will cost $18 more than listed prices below. Family Memberships with shuttles (two new tubes of 6 Yonex Mavis 300 shuttles) will cost $36 more than listed prices below. Kids under 12 play for free. All players can use the club’s Yonex birdies for free at each game.
